Je trouve que J.L. Walker a su orienter sa musique depuis quelques disques avec un son moins FM, moins plat donc à mon goût plus intéressant. Perso j'avais un peu de mal à l'écouter au même titre que Robert Cray.

A ma connaissance c'est certainement son dernier opus (enregistré en 2010) car il nous quittera en Février 2012.

Mon avis est que ce genre d'enregistrement ne colle pas très bien avec un Bluesmen comme Louisiana Red, on entend surtout le groupe....
Les seuls qui s'en sortent c'est Bob Corritore à l'harmonica et The Hawk à la guitare.
John Lee Hooker lui s'en était bien sorti dans cet exercice mais peut-être a-t-il été plus exigeant ou plutôt les musiciens l'accompagnant se sont "effacés", se sont mis à son service (Santana, Van Morrison, Canned Heat etc....)

Je n'ai pas de titres préférés car c'est assez uniforme, classique.
Dans la discographie de Louisiana, il y a nombre de perles autrement plus intéressantes dans la cinquantaine d'albums enregistrés.

Fabuleux trio qui nous a laissé cette galette somptueuse, mélange de Hard Rock, Heavy Rock, Psyché Rock, j'aurai bien vu ce groupe avec Jimi Hendrix. Cohésion totale entre les musiciens.
A l'égal de Led Zeppelin, Cream, Mountain, Ted Nugent etc. 
Ce Live a été enregistré le 06/04/1976 au Col Ballroom de Davenport, Iowa.

Je suis absolument dingue de ce groupe au même tire que Sun Dial, aucun disque ne se ressemblent et même certains sont difficiles d'écoute. Celui-ci fait dans la mélodie mais la touche psyché est présente partout tout en restant accessible.
Il existe quelques CD Live qui traînent pour la plupart de très bonne qualité et en Live le groupe se lâche et le temps ne compte plus.

Je possède aussi le vinyle original. Considéré par beaucoup comme l'opus psychédélique de Steve Miller.
C'est que quelques bruitages, jeu de guitare et effets sont là et confirment ce fait.
Tout est de qualité et assez différent de ce qu'il fera par la suite... La présence de Boz Scaggs apporte vraiment un grand plus.

Super CD avec un musicien accompli, inspiré et respectueux du Blues, on revient souvent aux sources de ce genre musical avec une partie acoustique pour les titres 2 à 8 et 15 et une 2eme électrique avec les titres 1, 9 à 14. Malheureusement il nous a quitté à 35 ans comme Alvin Lee, Rory Gallagher suite à une opération. Dommage!
